NEW V3.9 SecuTix already provides internal price components in order to break down the catalog price, for example in order to compute the amount due to a separate event producer or to a distributor. A new type of price components, called external price components, allows you to define price components which amount comes in addition to the catalog price. External price components bring several advantages compared to simple charges:

  • Amounts may be defined in a very flexible way. As for internal price components, you can define a global computation rule and override it for a specific cell of your price grid
  • Amounts of internal and external price components are displayed on the same screen, simplifying the set-up and providing you a global ovverview
  • You can define as many external price components as you want

A given price grid may use internal price components, external price components, or both.

Solution

The Allalin V2 release will provide price breakdown for open passes. Here are the main characteristics of this feature:

  • The breakdown will be available for open passes:
    • Bought alone
    • Bought inside a package
    • Bought by means of an advantage

The set-up of the catalog price itself undergoes only minor changes,  As in the current solution, the prices of an open pass cannot be reused for another open pass. This approach allows to keep a very simple way of setting-up prices. Indeed, prices can directly be set-up when creating the open pass without having to assign explicitly a price grid to an open pass.

Getting started

Setting up the external price component

External price components are set-up exactly in the same way as internal price components. You can define if an external price component may be refunded or not, when the refund is requested by the end customer.

Entering amounts to the price grid

In order to enter the amounts of the external price components, you should follow the steps described below

Enter the catalog prices

Create the price grid and enter the amounts as usual

Create a price breakdown

You may create one or several price breakdowns, depending if the external price components amounts should depend on the sales channel or not. This step is exactly the same as for the already existing internal price components.

Select the price components to be used by the price breakdown

You may select internal price components, external price components, or both

You have first to enter the catalog prices. Then, you must create a price grid breakdown

By default, the open pass will be sold at the same price alone or inside the package. You can define specific prices (for your pass inside the package) by clicking on the MODIFY PRICE button. The modified prices are highlighted in blue.

By hovering the mouse on the highlighted cells, you will see the initial price.

When coming back to the previous screen, you can see that the prices have been modified (the names of the rates tables mentioned in the two last columns are different).

You may reset the price of the open pass inside the package to the initial price (i.e. to the price of the open pass sold alone) by clicking on the RESET PRICE button. All modified prices (for the given open pass and package) are lost.

Remarks:

  • The drop down used to choose between the aggregated view and the detailed view doesn't have any impact on open passes (it is used to group together performances of an event or time slots of a visit pass).
  • The button CHOOSE RATES TABLE is disabled for open passes (it's foreseen for events and visit passes that may share common price grids).

Open pass inside an advantage

Prices in advantages are set-up in the same way as prices inside a package.

Mass change of prices

Let us assume that an open pass has been added to some packages and advantages. You want to modify the price of the open pass and propagate this price change to the packages and advantages using that open pass.

If you haven't defined specific prices for this open pass inside the package or advantage, the price change on the open pass is taken into account automatically

If you have defined specific prices for this open pass inside the package or advantage, you may change the price of the open pass and propagate this change to the package and/or advantage in one click by using the new button BULK EDIT PRICE FOR PRODUCT.

When you select an open pass (for example VIP Admission) and click on this button, SecuTix will display (and select by default) all the packages and advantages using that open pass. You may decide to propagate the change to a part of these packages and advantages (for example only the packages).

You may now change the prices displayed (that haven't been modified in the packages). You may also enter a price into the blue cells. A blue cell means that the prices inside the packages have been modified. The entered price will apply to the open pass and to the selected packages and/or advantages.

Setting up the price breakdown

The price breakdown uses the price components defined in the season. Please refer to Define flexible price breakdowns for the definition of the price components.

You can enter a price breakdown for each open pass price, no matter if the open pass is sold alone or inside a package or advantage. You benefit from total freedom in the sense that the definition of a price breakdown is always optional and fully independent from one price grid to another. For example, you could define a breakdown for the stand alone open pass but not for the open pass inside a package.

The set-up process is exactly the same as for the other product families. You can find more detailed information on Define flexible price breakdowns.

Reporting

The sold amounts of the price components defined above (that may need to be shared among the different stakeholders) are provided by the reporting domain "Summary of fees". An example is given below:

Documents

You can display the price components on order related documents  as well as on the file summary. You will find more details here.

Data migration

You can immediately start working with this new feature and create price breakdowns for open passes. Indeed, all pricing data have been migrated to the new pricing model. The reports will only take into account the defined price breakdowns for the reservations and sales created after the definition of the price breakdown (no retroactive effect).
