Since the 1st of July 2022, businesses offering subscriptions to German consumers have to provide a specifically labeled button for their online retail channels that leads to a contact form through which consumers must be enabled to cancel existing subscriptions with the click of only one further button. Until now, this requirement could only be achieved by reassigning an existing link on the Ticket Shop to this task. A dedicated link has been implemented, thus simplifying the required set-up. Although this feature has been implemented to comply with a German law, it may be used by any other SecuTix customer.

Solution

Global process

This improvement doesn't impact the global process that is described in detail in Termination of Subscription (DE) and is summarised below:

  • Set-up the URL to which the internet user wishing to terminate a subscription should be redirected
  • The URL points to a form (to be provided by SecuTix' customers) on which the internet user enters personal data to identify himself and specifies the season ticket(s) or membership(s) that should not be renewed
  • When the internet user submits the form:
    • A confirmation email is sent to the internet user
    • The institution receives an email with the form content and processes the request manually, taking into account the general sales conditions to assess possible refunds.

Setting-up the new "subscription termination link"

In order to illustrate the solution, let's consider the following example. The customer has bought 2 tickets. The on-line shop allows mobile ticket and print@home shipment mode. He selects the mobile ticket shipment mode and pays the order. No tickets have been downloaded or printed yet. The end customer has still the choice between downloading a ticket on his mobile or printing an e-ticket.

The end customer decides to download the first ticket on his mobile. He can't get an e-ticket anymore to prevent the invalidation of the mobile ticket:

The restriction works similarly in the other way. If the end customer prints the second ticket as a print@home, he won't be able anymore to download it as a mobile ticket. Clicking several times on the printable ticket link will open exactly the same PDF file (without invalidating previous tickets).

Getting started

You don't have anything to do. This feature is enabled by default.
