Introduction

When creating targets in S-360 SAM module you have access to what is called the "SECUTIX Query Engine".
These are the main areas and functions of the engine:

  1. Query starting condition
  2. Add filter / sub-query
  3. List of available filters and examples
  4. List of selected filters and conditions
  5. Disable/remove filters
  6. Search and results

1. Query starting condition

The engine allows you to build a query as naturally as you construct a sentence. The standard start of the sentence is always set as: "Select records for which all conditions below apply." 
You can however choose between 4 different possibilities depending on what you want to do:

  • all ( + / and ): allows you to add contacts to the list and to link the conditions with an and


  • none (- / and):  allows you to exclude contacts from the list and to link the conditions with an and



  • at least one (+ / or):  allows you to add contacts to the list and link the conditions with one or
  • at least not one ( - / or):  allows you to exclude contacts from the list and to link the conditions with one or

These two buttons allow you to:

  •   Add a new conditions / sub-conditions → it will open the list of filters (see §3)

  •   Add a nested query → this is an advanced setting, see the section below if you already know who to create and use standard queries/filters.

titleNested queries

The sub-queries, or nested queries, allows you to define a subgroup of conditions within the query.

Basically, it's like in mathematics when you use parentheses to differentiate between pieces of an equation that must be executed at first, before the result is applied to the whole equation.

Ex: 10 x 5 – ( 3+2 ) = 45 is different from  10 x 5 - 3 + 2 = 49

Here it is important to group 3 + 2 in parentheses so that they are performed together before being subtracted from the rest of the equation.

To create a sub-query:

  1. Click on
  2. Click on the default filter and change it to Individual > Contact (or Structure > Contact)
  3. Click on the default operator and change it to in sub query
  4. Click on edit sub query: in the new window, create you query as it was a standard target. Click "OK" when ready.

titlePredefined

This menu includes some preset and most used filters. You may start with them, you'll find:

Contact has not printed print@home ticket for → contacts who have not printed their print@home ticket for a given performance

Contact is a member of → contacts being members of organization X (= the Member indicator is yes for organization X)

Contact is season ticket holder of → contacts being subscribers of organization X  (= the Subscriber indicator is yes for organization X)

Contact has bought more than → contacts who have purchased for an amount greater than

Contact has bought less than → contacts who have purchased for an amount less than

Contact is in static target → contacts part of static target X.

titleIndividual / Structure

The main data from your contact cards are available in the first two filters (email, birthday date, source sales channel, the existence of a login, etc).
Some are specific for individuals (gender, title, etc) or to structures (structure type, website, etc). Pick individual or structure according to the type of contacts you are basing the query on.

The example below shows a query combining several operators and several individual entity fields.
This request will allow us to obtain the list of individuals with an email and a login who were created in the current month on the "Internet B2C" or "Internet B2B" sales channel.

The geographic and postal data of your contacts are available here.
The examplebelow shows a query combining several operators and several address entity fields. It allows you to obtain the list of all individuals living in Switzerland or France.

Information and communication authorizations for your contacts are available here.
The example presents a query allowing you to obtain the list of all individuals accepting communications from your organization.

According to GDPR, SAM Campaigns module will in any case filter out contacts who do not provide their authorization, unless you specifically choose otherwise: see this page for more info How to create a campaign

titleIndicators

The data automatically calculated by S-360 based on the behavior of your contacts are available here.
To make a query based on an indicator, you first need to know what type of value is possible for your indicator: boolean (yes/no), numeric, etc.

Also remember that indicators have a level and a value. For example, the "Attendance" indicator will have the occasional  value and level 1  because the contact will have returned 1 time, thus classifying it in the occasional contact category.

The example shows a query to get a list of all individuals with the Social Media Engagement (Shares) metric set to Engaged.

titleContact criterion

Your contacts' qualification data are available here. If you have several organizations, the criteria can therefore be centralized (meaning that the value will be identical in all the organizations) or by organization (so specific for each one of them).
The example presents a query to obtain the list of all individuals who prefer to be contacted by email.

titleCultural history

Your contacts' cultural history is available here. Please remember that a contact is a cultural contact when a ticket/item is linked to them, despite if they were bought directly or by someone else.
The example shows a query combining several operators and several fields from the Sales History entityfilters: it allows you to obtain the list of all individuals who made a purchase during the season on the "Internet B2C" or on "Guichet" sales channel.have a ticket for Aida that were bought on sales channel "B2C"

This filter is usually crucial for most of the targets. It refers to the last status of the product linked to the cultural contacts.
Important: filtering a given product e.g. by ‘Cultural history Sale Type = Discard’ (in order to identify those who did not purchase it despite an initial selection) does not guarantee that customers did not buy it later!Image Removed

Data relating to product families purchased by your contacts are available here.
The example shows a query combining several operators and several fields of the product family entity: it allows you to obtain the list of all individuals who have products belonging to subscriptions or memberships families.

As a general rule it is not possible to use the same filter twice in the same query with different value. The result is always zero.

4. List of selected filters

This is where you will be able to define the conditions of your request. As seen above the button allows you to add a new condition.

When selected, each filter comes with its own set of operators (usually but not always including equal, notEqual, inList etc) and values to define the condition to be applied.

A simple click on "search" allows you to see the volume of contacts meeting the defined conditions. Please note you'll see on screen only the first 100 contacts.

You can click on contacts to access their files if needed..
