In certain fields of the contact details, operators can enter any character, including special characters, e.g., a semicolon ";". In term of contact management, it is not a big issue since operators can remove it manually.

However, when exporting this data, it may be a significant issue for some exporting formats, e.g., a semicolon ";" is understood as a column break in CSV files. Operators have thus to manually perform the steps to detect and correct such characters before be able to successfully export the data.

A restriction is done on back office Contact management to prevent operator entering ";".

This restriction has already been applied on the ticketshop. The set of allowed characters is defined in the INSTITUTION table - column EXTERNAL_ALLOWED_CHARACTERS. Please contact the support team, if you need to add some additional restrictions.

Hereafter the list of fields where the restriction is applied:

  • First Name, Last Name, Nickname, Passport number
  • Address Postal code, Town, Address line 1, 2, 3
  • Contact function, Address Salutation, Letter Salutation
  • No labels
