The new full-web seat map editor is now the official editor of SecuTix. We kept all the the useful feature of the previous editor and added some cool new ones.

  • A new streamlined user interface, consistent with the user interface of the seat map of the physical configuration, logical configuration, performance/match plan screen and in the sales context modules.
  • A block creation tool, which allows adding, positioning and numbering in bulk a group of seats in just a few clicks.
  • Not numbered areas of any shape.
  • Advanced neighboring computation feature.

The new editor is available in the venue module as the primary editor, as well as in "Edit physical configuration" screen of the physical configuration entity.

User interface

The new user interface of the editor was inspired by the streamlined interface of the seat map, in order to keep a consistent feeling throughout the seat map creation, configuration and sales phases.

  • Full screen view: With the toolbars, stats and navigation map hovering over the seat map, the full size of the screen is available to display the map itself, giving an improved immersive feeling.



  • Item selection through keyboard and mouse shortcuts: Similarly to changes made in the seat map, gone are the selection tools that need to be activated before being able to select some items in the editor. The different kinds of selection are all available through keyboard and mouse shortcuts.
    • Single item selection: CLICK
    • Additional item selection: CTRL-CLICK
    • Rectangle selection: CLICK-HOLD, MOUSE-MOVE
    • Polygon selection: DOUBLE-CLICK, CLICK, CLICK... CLICK on start point
    • All selection: CTRL-A

  • Context aware action toolbars: Seat, cosmetic and common toolbars are all selection aware, meaning the matching toolbar is shown according to the selection. They allow the user to quickly see the current selection and do not clog the view box uselessly when no item is selected.

Block creation tool

Through three tabs, to position, number the seats and rows, this new tool provides an efficient way to quickly draw blocks of seats exactly how you want them.

Note that this tool does not prevent seats from being edited individually afterwards.

  • Dimensions tab: this tab allows the user to define the following elements in order to position the seats precisely:
    • General block orientation
    • Seat alignment: left, center, right
    • Default seat and row spacing
    • Block orientation and curving
    • Block position
    • Per row, overrides the default values:
      • Number of seats
      • Seat spacing
      • Row spacing

  • Seat numbering tab: 
    • Seat numbering activation
    • Starting value
    • Increment value
    • Continuous numbering
    • Row-by-row numbering

  • Row numbering tab: 
    • Row number activation
    • Starting value
    • Numbering direction
    • Numbering type
    • Display position

Not numbered areas

Not numbered areas can now be created from any shape: rectangles, circles and even polygons.

Advanced neighboring computation (physical configuration only)

The computation of neighbors is very important in order to assign contiguous seats during the sales phase. The seat and row spacing may impact this computation. The advanced neighboring computation feature allows the user to change the computation threshold and have total control over which seats are neighbors or not. The computation can also be launched on a selection of seats to fine tune the final result.

  • The advanced features can be activated using the "ALT" key when selecting the "Re-calculate all adjacent fields".
