WV2.3 Capturing contact details is essential but you want to make sure not to disrupt the sales handled by your operators. Finding the right balance for your needs is now even easier with a fully customizable contact creation form.

Solution

The flexibility available for the customization of contact forms in the online sales has been applied to the back-office: contact, sales and quick sales modules. First of all, the form has been reorganized for consistency and also to ensure that dependent fields are displayed after the fields they dependent on. We have added a few fields and more importantly we have made it possible to defined which fields are mandatory, optional or hidden altogether.

Getting started

In the organization list of the institution context, open the "screen configuration" screen of the organization. You can configure the different fields of the "Contact creation form".

  • The title, first name and last name are always mandatory.
  • The "Create internet account" checkbox can be either visible or hidden, and checked/unchecked by default. The visibility of the "Document type" and "Point of sales" drop-downs used for the email depend on this same configuration.
  • The "Country", "Postcode", "Town" and "Address" fields all depend on the configuration of the "Address" configuration, possibly also the "Region/State" depending on the selected country.
  • Other fields can be configured to be either mandatory, optional or hidden.

The default configuration will be used in the contact module of the organization context, as well as in all the back-office sales channel for which a specific configuration has not been created.

Example

The screenshot provides an example with all available fields. Note that there are some dependencies within the form:

  • the creation of an internet account will require an email address
  • the "point of sales" drop-down values depend on whether contact is a individual or a relay contact
  • the "mobile phone" prefix drop-down depends on the selected value of the "country" drop-down
  • if the address is optional but if a value is entered in either the "Country", "Postcode" or "Town", then a value is mandatory in all 3

It is thus possible to define precisely the required fields. For example, the form can be very simple as in this example.
