Context

NEW V2.0 In some situations, it is required to offer different products, prices or payment methods that depends on the customer's country of residence. For example, you may want to have a dedicated sales channel for host-country residents only. SecuTix now offers the ability to restrict the access to an internet point of sales based on the country of residence, including the ability to automatically redirect customers to the right portal if required.

Solution

A new parameter inside the point of sales allows to define the authorized countries. Only contacts who have their main address in one of the authorized country will be allowed to access the internet point of sales.

In addition to the restriction, the system also provides a new "hub" feature that automatically redirects unauthorized users to another sales channel, compatible with their country of residence.

Login before catalog recommended

The functionality works best if you require users to login before the catalog. Otherwise, users may be rejected only after they have completed their cart leading to a poor user experience. Moreover, the feature is incompatible with "Guest checkout" as the contact address is not captured in this process.

Finally, the experience will be best if you use an SSO solution for your ticketshop: with such a solution, your internet users won't need to login again after they are redirected to the appropriate sales channel.

Getting started

For each Internet point-of-sale, you can configure inside the new "Internet Access Rights" tab the following 2 new parameters:

  • Authorised country of residence (based on the contact address), and
  • Hub Group Point-of-Sales

Hub Group PoS allows you to configure to which other point-of-sales the system will redirect unauthorized users. You can also rank the POSs to decide in which order a POS should be considered for the redirection given a hub group.

After this setup is done, the internet users will see the following behaviour.

If the logged-in user’s country of residence is in the list of authorized countries configured at the point-of-sales level the user can continue to view and buy products in the same sales channel.

Otherwise, the hub functionality kicks in and goes through the other point-of-sales belonging to the same hub group, based on their ranking, and automatically redirects the user to the first point-of-sales that authorizes access for the user’s country of residence.

If none of the point-of-sales in the hub group authorizes access for the user’s country of residence, an error page will be displayed to the user. The error message on this page can be further customized (same as other label customization) to better fit your business needs.
