NEW V1.11 Add dummy seats to help validate your access control configuration

Please note that this feature is intended for very large events where access control operations and testing are highly sensitive. We do not recommend using it in simpler contexts. Dummy seats will count towards the total quota and the corresponding tickets are valid, so their usage should be closely monitored.

Being able to run extensive access control tests on real tickets without disrupting sales is a challenge. Having valid tickets for all inventory combinations but outside of the real sales operations helps a lot in that aspect.

Solution

In the seat map editor, it is now possible to mark seats as dummy seats in order to hide them from any public displays, i.e., print-outs, the public screen of the box-office and in particular the seat map of the ticketshop.

Getting started

When editing seats and cosmetics in the seat map editor, you can now flag them as Dummy seat and Dummy seat cosmetic respectively.

In the seat maps of the physical, logical and sales configuration, you can toggle the display of the dummy seats and their cosmetics. They are by default displayed in the configuration levels. However, they are hidden by default in the sales module. Indeed permission to "sell" those seats should only be granted to a very limited number of person.

IMPORTANT: we strongly recommend linking those seats to a dedicated contingent that will only be available to a restricted number of people and only on back-office sales channels.

Print-outs

Dummy seats and their cosmetics will be displayed or not in the print-outs according to the display toggle of the seat map itself.

Public screen

Dummy seats and their cosmetics will never by displayed on the public screen, even if they are toggled to be visible on the seat map of the operator.

Ticketshop

Dummy seats and their cosmetics will never by displayed in the ticketshop. If the contingent linked to the dummy seats has been made available by mistake, the available seat marker will be displayed above an empty area.

IMPORTANT: we strongly recommend to never allow such contingent on a internet sales channel.
